Casino operator Wynn Resorts struck a deal with gaming tech provider Sci-Games. Their partnership will allow Wynn Resorts to offer iGaming and sports betting in the US. As part of the sports betting and iGaming deal, Sci-Games will support the casino firm’s venture into online gambling.
Although there’s little detail about the deal, Wynn told sports betting industry news that it will launch an online gambling platform in New Jersey in the future. Also, there are questions as to what will become to the sports betting deal Wynn signed with BetBull last October.
Sports Betting and iGaming Deal
According to sportsbook pay per head solution providers, Steve Wynn is the reason why the company is late to the online gambling market. The founder didn’t believe the online market is worth investing in.
In 2014, Wynn created an interactive division. Also, it applied for an online gaming license in New Jersey that same year. However, the company withdrew the application the next year without giving an explanation.
Wynn was going to piggyback on Caesars Interactive Entertainment’s NJ license through its partnership with 888 Holdings. Also, it is possible that the relationship is still on good terms.
In 2017, Sci-Games became a big player in the sports betting industry by acquiring the OpenBet platform. In fact, it is a good example for people who want to learn how to be a bookie for dummies. Getting a good sport betting software is the first step towards success in the industry.
After the announcement of the deal, stocks of both Wynn and Sci-Games increased by mid-day. However, Wynn’s future remains uncertain as the Massachusetts Gaming Commission wants the company to change its CEO.
