Olympic champion Usain Bolt said his sports life is over. The 32-year old gave up his football dream. He last played with the Australian team Central Coast Mariners. He left the club after it failed to find a sponsor.
He made his debut for the Mariners in a trial match in September when he came off the bench. In his second game for the club, he was a starter and scored two goals. However, many sports betting bloggers questioned his ability to play football at a pro level. Some people had doubts that an elite Olympic runner can excel in a second sport.
Although Usain Bolt had an offer from Maltese side Valletta, he turned it down because it can’t afford his demands. In addition, he trained with German team Borussia Dortmund, and Norwegian side Stromsgodset.
He also had offers from French and Spanish clubs, but he turned them down because they were not in the top division. Also, he didn’t want to learn a new language. A bookie handicapper didn’t take Bolt seriously because they thought his football skills were lacking.
